Monthly expenses:

Rent	I am going to rent a 1 bedroom apt in Sunnyside for $1,300 per month. Your choice will vary.
Elec/Gas	Will be about $50 per month for a small apartment.
Phone	Cell and land line or just a cell? your choice
Car payment	$239 per month for a Honda Accord - or $399 per month for a BMW or no car at all?
Car Insurance	This is very expensive - especially in NYC - and especially for a male under the age of 25. Check rates if you own a car.
Gas	$75 - $250 per month
Parking	$50 - $150 per month
Car maintenance	Flat tire? New muffler? Tune up? expect a bill here if you own a car.
Subway pass	$82 for unlimited monthly
Health Club	$40 to $100 per month depending on how nice of a gym you want
Food - dining in	Grocery store - about $200 - $400 per month - (depending on how much you eat out.)
Food - dining out	This will be $200 - $600 per month - (depending on how much you eat out).
Clothes/shoes	This will be at least $50 and up to $500 (you know how much you would spend)
Trip/Vacation	Going away for the week/weekend - it will cost you.
School loan	You are a young professional - you are still paying your college loans. $50 - $250 per month.
Gifts	Moms birthday is coming.
Saving/Investing	Savings account? Stock Market? Trip to Paris? How much to save?
Luxury spending	Flat screen tv? New ipod? Tix to concert?
Hair/beauty	Hair - nails - facial - massage?
Other	Is there anything I missed? What else will you spend money on?
Cable	This is cable TV and internet connection. $50 - $120 per month, depending on road-runner, HBO, etc.
